The first Sunday of the month, the Allen County–Fort Wayne Historical Society presents the George R. Mather Sunday Lecture Series. The series consists of a number of informative lectures presented by subject-matter experts, in an effort to educate the community on local history and often to illuminate the role that Allen County people and events have played in the broader scope of national and international affairs.
This month’s lecture is “Classic Restaurants of Fort Wayne,” presented by Keith Elchert and Laura Weston. Celebrate the sweet and savory sides of Fort Wayne with a look at the history of the city’s restaurant scene. Local authors Elchert and Weston discuss longtime city favorites that provided not only delicious dishes for diners but also served as the backdrop for many notable moments in Fort Wayne’s history. The authors have published their research in a new book and will sign copies after their lecture.
