The first Sunday of the month, the Allen County–Fort Wayne Historical Society presents the George R. Mather Sunday Lecture Series. The series consists of a number of informative lectures presented by subject-matter experts, in an effort to educate the community on local history and often to illuminate the role that Allen County people and events have played in the broader scope of national and international affairs.
This month’s lecture is “1794 Old Northwest and the March to Kekionga,” presented by Jim Pickett. Pickett is author of the historical fiction narrative The March to Kekionga, which centers on life in the Old Northwest during the years 1791 to 1794, in an era when Americans were struggling against the British and Native American coalitions for control of the region. Pickett will explain what he learned during the research and writing of the book. He’ll sell and sign copies after the presentation.
