
MPL will offer the following activities/programs for FrankenFest:
Ongoing activities will include
• Read-a-Thon with guest readers reading Frankenstein aloud beginning about 9:15
• A special medical exhibit using Civil War era medical tools in the MPL Museum
• An opportunity to pen a haiku
• STEAM Stations for fun with science experiments
• Talkback Board to respond to the question, “Is Dr. Frankenstein’s creature a monster or misunderstood?”
• Arts & crafts activities
Create a face with a paper plate—a FrankenPlate
Paint FrankenRocks
Schedule programs include
9 a.m. –donuts & cider available for purchase
o 9:30—Frankenstein movie
o 10:30 a.m. Dr. Nancy Dayton, professor of English at Taylor University, will present a TED talk about the novel
o Noon—FrankenDogs available for purchase
Frankenstein movie
• pm—presentation from nationally syndicated cartoonist Eric Reeves (think Hi & Lois)
• p.m.—Readers Theatre with the Marion Civic Theatre
• p.m.—teens make FrankenToys with toy parts
Kettle corn available for purchase
• 3:30—Frankenstein movie
