Frankenfest (Franklin)
Event Details

The Frankenfest read-a-thon will occur from 10:00 am to about 7:00 pm. At 2:00 and 7:00 pm, Young Frankenstein will be playing at The Historic Artcraft Theatre. In addition to the read-a-thon, we’re planning several Frankenstein-themed activities to last throughout the day. Families will step into Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab to experience hands-on STEAM activities throughout the day. From playing life-size Frankenstein Operation to learn about circuitry to working through robotics challenges to explore artificial intelligence, children will learn more about the scientific themes of Frankenstein. Families can read the children’s book Crankenstein, by strolling the downtown streets and reading the pages on the windows at local businesses. Families can participate in life-size games like Pin the Bolts on Frankenstein, “Frankenstein Needs a Brain” beanbag toss, and Frankenstein bowling. Frankenstein crafts will be scheduled during the day, including Monster Rock Painting and Frankenstein headbands. A photobooth will be available to capture all of the fun.
