Afrofuturism is a movement of art, culture and literature that seeks to explore dilemmas faced by black people and theorize possible futures. On the second Friday of each month throughout 2018, the Kheprw Institute will host a discussion program on a different topic related to Afrofuturism, in an effort to reexamine events of the past, critique the present-day dilemmas of the African Diaspora and create a space to imagine and dream of possible futures. Each event will include food, music and celebration of community.
September’s program will feature a visual artists workshop.
For updated information on the monthly topic, visit kheprw.org/mec-category/afrofuturism or call the the Kheprw Institute at 317.329.4803.
This program received funding from a Humanities Initiative Grant.
