Learn the history of the 1818 St. Mary Treaties and their impact on Indiana's Native peoples
Event Details

What happens when nations intersect? What is a treaty? This free Spirit & Place-promoted event will explore the historic and contemporary impact of treaties between Great Lakes nations and the U.S. government. Learn from a panel of experts, including Miami, Delaware and Potawatomi representatives, how the St. Marys Treaties of 1818 impacted Indiana’s first peoples, the future settlement of their land and how and why treaties are still relevant today. Free parking is available in the White River State Park underground garage.
